Mattress Cleaning

Did you realize that your mattress is the dirtiest item in your house? You clean everything that you own; your-self, clothes, floors, walls, counters, sinks, bathrooms, carpets, drapers, cars, pets, phones, etc. But, never your mattress? Changing sheets, allergy mattress cover, or dust allergy bedding will not keep your mattress sanitary! In fact, covers will have more of an adverse effect because of the lack of oxygen. Ultimately, the best defense against allergens is mattress cleaning.

You spend 1/3 of your life sleeping on your mattress. So, keeping your bed clean is a huge part of any effective anti-allergen cleaning and maintenance routine. You should clean your mattress every six months. Ultimately, cleaning your bed regularly can increase the lifespan of your mattress.

Four Steps to a Clean Mattress

  1. Vacuum to remove loose dirt and dust.
  2. Spot clean any stains. However, try to use as little soap and water as possible as to not soak the mattress.
  3. After the surface is dry, sprinkle on a thin layer of baking soda to observe odor. You should leave it on for as long as possible, at least a few hours.
  4. Vacuum up the baking soda.

That's it! Now put on your fresh and clean bedding, and you're ready to sleep.
